Our Kiosk Systems
Real Time Kiosks At A Glance
The Leading Transaction Kiosk System for Credit Unions
Credit union industry veterans — veterans with experience in management,
operations and IT — developed the Real Time Kiosk System. Armed with first-hand
on-the-job industry experience, the developers had three distinct but related goals in mind for developing
a full-function, secure, financial transition system that meets the operational and member service needs
of the credit union industry.
Goal #1: Security
The first goal was to develop a secure system that would prevent identity theft.
This goal led Real Time to pioneer the first biometric finger image
identification technology into a self-service system, which is now a standard feature in all Real
Time Kiosk Systems.
The side benefit of biometric identification (also called “human authentication") is the ability for
members to access their accounts without the need for ATM cards or remembering PINs.
Goal #2: Improved Depository System
The second goal was to develop an enhanced depository system which (a) gives members greater
confidence when making deposits; (b) eliminates the problem of "empty envelopes"; and (c) minimizes deposit
disputes. This goal led Real
Time to
pioneer reduced-image receipts for deposited items. Our depository system has virtually eliminated
fraudulent deposit transactions and disputed transactions and has significantly increased the number
of deposits taken through the self-service kiosks.
Goal #3: Leveraging Credit Unions' Internet Investments
The third goal was to establish a seamless and comprehensive interface
to the Internet. When credit unions who offer services through their Web sites update their sites (with
new loan rates or savings rates, for example), the updated content is automatically available to members
at the kiosk. This feature also allows credit
unions to integrate their Internet Lending capabilities and New Membership Applications right at
the kiosk without any operational changes at the credit union. In fact, any new feature added to a credit
union's Web site (such as used vehicle valuation, copies of checks, or insurance promotions) becomes
available at the kiosk.
